Dreaming in Metaphors

"I'm alive. I breathe. In a moment or two I realize that this sphere upon which I reside is asleep on its feet. Should I go back to sleep?"

I had a dream the other night, but I can't describe it. Not because I don't remember, but because you aren't allowed to hear it. Don't worry, it's all G-rated. Sometimes, though, you just need to keep things to yourself in order to understand them. With it, I've started a dream journal. To understand the waking life, one must also comprehend the unconscious mind. As the unconscious sleeps, it may catch a glimpse of what goes on in our life. It sees what we cannot. The conscious, too, can observe what surfaces from the sublime as we sleep. It is this connection that provides us profound insight. It's never cut and dried, however; we must embrace the metaphor, and listen to its meaning. The metaphor is always true, regardless of whether you interpret it correctly or not.

My dream was another's cry for help. Something
is wrong, and only I can fix it. This will not be my future; I refuse to sit idly by and let it happen, knowing full well that I can change it all.

Only I can save her.
