This is not a game. You stand against everything I hold sacred. You corrupt and destroy that which matters most to me.
You are always in my way. For your chaos you will pay.

Metropolis
Somewhere, like a scene from a memory,
There's a picture worth a thousand words.
Eluding stares from faces before me,
It hides away and will never be heard of again.
The city's cold blood teaches us to survive.
Just keep my heart in your eyes and we'll stay alive.
There's a picture worth a thousand words.
Eluding stares from faces before me,

It might not be the right time,
I might not be the right one.
But there's something about us I want to say,
'Cause there's something between us anyway.
I might not be the right one.
It might not be the right time.
But there's something about us I've got to do,
Some kind of secret I will share with you.
Rest in peace Mr. Carney.

Sugar
When she smiles, the world lights up.
When she laughs, all the angels dance.
A single touch and I weep for gladness.
Asleep in my arms, she is ever safe.
There's something about the look in your eyes.
Deep and radiant, mirrored in your face.
It echos the shining stars, gleaming ever bright.
And it reminded me that you are so worth the fight.
You are Stellar.
I turned, and saw you looking at me. I smiled. But even though your face was hidden, I saw in your eyes that you were smiling back. There are no words that can carry your beauty. In my heart of hearts, I know that I have found you. I can only pray for the sense to hold on to you.
"Here, hold this forever," she jokingly said to me, as I took her purse from her hand. I know now that she was offering me her heart.

Mexico
I had a match, but she had a lighter.
I had a flame, but she had a fire.
I was bright, but she was much brighter.
I was high, but she was the sky.
Oh baby, I was bound for Mexico.
Oh baby, I was was bound to let you go.
I don't know much about Cinco de Mayo,
I'm never sure what it's all about.
But I say I want you and you don't believe me;
You say you want me, but I've got my doubts.
Oh baby, I was bound for Mexico.
Oh baby, I was bound to let you go.
I had a match, but she had a lighter.

Start a War
This was supposed to be my chance. This was MY dream. But you came and stole it all away. Don't you have enough of your own? Aren't you satisfied with all that you already have? Why can't you leave something for me.
It was MY turn.
Why don't you watch where you're wandering? Why don't you watch where you're stumbling? You're wading knee deep and going in. This bog is thick and easy to get lost in, 'cause you're a stupid belligerent fucker.
I hope it sucks you down.

There is good, and there is evil; right and wrong. Heroes, and villians. And if we're blessed with wisdom, then there are glimpses between the cracks of each where light streams through. We wait in silence for these times when sense can be made, when meaningless existence comes into focus and our purpose presents itself. And if we have the strength to be honest, then what we find there, staring back at us, is our own reflection; bearing witness to the duality of life. That each one of us is capable of both the dark and the light. Of good, and evil. Of either; of all. And destiny, while marching ever in our direction, can be rerouted by the choices we make. By the love we hold on to. By the promises we keep.

Make Yourself
You do something to me that I can't explain.
So would I be out of line if I said
I miss you?
You have only been gone ten days
But already I'm wasting away
I know I'll see you again
Whether far or soon
But I need you to know that I care
And I miss you.

Left Me For Dead
You didn't stop to look 'round.
You were gone before I hit the ground.
You went on your way, no prayer was said.
You left me for dead.
You didn't cover my face.
I didn't merit a communal grave.
You set me aside, no tears were shed.
You left me for dead.
I won't stop, no, 'til hell is your home.
There's nowhere to hide, nowhere to go.
You'll feel the cold of my gun at your head.
You left me for dead.
And it's not like you stayed by my side or you called me a priest.
You searched through my mouth to check for gold teeth.
You were pawning my shoes as I bled.
You left me for dead.
You kept on taking your time.
Until it was certain I couldn't survive.
Judas remained, you turned and fled.
You left me for dead.
It didn't trouble your mind.
It did not disturb you to see me decline.
You turned out my lights, you put me to bed.
You left me for dead.
And I won't rest my head 'til hell is your home.
You think that you're safe, but oh no.
You'll feel the cold of my gun hit your head.
You left me for dead.
You didn't stay close to me, didn't stay by my side.
I was choking in blood as delight filled your eyes.
You're going to burn for each word that was said.
You left me for dead.
I've reached a dead end and I can't go back.
Now I'm out for blood, yes I'm on the attack.
But if I'm going down then you'll come with me.
Because you didn't stop to look 'round.
You were gone before I hit the ground.
You went on your way, no prayer was said.
You left me for dead.
You were gone before I hit the ground.

World Falls Away
Will it ever end? Will this cycle ever break? When will it be my turn? When do I get my share? Where are my wings?
How can I compete with you? I don't want to play the way you do. I don't want to play dirty. I want to win her by my own heart. That is the way I'm wired. I can't change for her.
What is it about him, what is it that makes you squirm? When you look at him, what do you see? What do you see that makes you long for him? What makes you touch him the way you do? Because it is ripping me to pieces to see you this way. I feel betrayed. So betrayed. Do you even realize it? Do you do it on purpose? What do you have against me? What have I done?
What can he offer you? Is there anything he can give you that I can't? No. I can give you all that he can, and so much more. I hope that you see that. I need you to realize that. You and him, you and I. You deserve more than what he is. So much more.

The Answer
I had a day to reflect on things.
I realized that it's okay to go a little crazy, as long as you keep your hands on the wheel.
I realized that life will spell itself out for you when it's good and ready to.
And I realized that you're so worth the fight.

Michael's Ride
I... I love you. I finally have come to realize that it IS love that I feel for you. I feel so bright when you are around. You affect me in a way no one else can. You are an amazing person. I just want to hold you, to squeeze you tight, feel the warmth of your heart beating beside my own. It is grand. There is nothing better than the glowing smile on your face, your vibrant eyes giving me all I need to live.
I kissed you today on the forehead, when we hugged goodnight. I don't know why I did. But it made me happier than I've ever been before, and I hope it made you feel the same.
I can't wait to see Equus.

Road Trippin'
I want you to know how euphoric it feels to have her smiling and laughing next to me.
It's the greatest feeling in the world to make someone else smile. =]

Peruvian Skies
"I swear he's gonna murder that poor kid..."
...And I love how a wonderful day can be totally fucked up by something so simple and stupid.

Have You Ever
Do you remember that day when even though you were tired, even though you had naught but a bagel to eat, even though your throat was on fire, it felt wonderful? Have you ever had a day like that?
'Cause I just did. And it was wonderful.
'Cause I just did. And it was wonderful.

Dreaming in Metaphors
"I'm alive. I breathe. In a moment or two I realize that this sphere upon which I reside is asleep on its feet. Should I go back to sleep?"
I had a dream the other night, but I can't describe it. Not because I don't remember, but because you aren't allowed to hear it. Don't worry, it's all G-rated. Sometimes, though, you just need to keep things to yourself in order to understand them. With it, I've started a dream journal. To understand the waking life, one must also comprehend the unconscious mind. As the unconscious sleeps, it may catch a glimpse of what goes on in our life. It sees what we cannot. The conscious, too, can observe what surfaces from the sublime as we sleep. It is this connection that provides us profound insight. It's never cut and dried, however; we must embrace the metaphor, and listen to its meaning. The metaphor is always true, regardless of whether you interpret it correctly or not.
My dream was another's cry for help. Something is wrong, and only I can fix it. This will not be my future; I refuse to sit idly by and let it happen, knowing full well that I can change it all.
Only I can save her.
